How did you feel when you were asked to star in the campaign for ESCADA’s new fragrance, DesireMe?
My first feeling was surprise which then turned into delight! ESCADA to me represents style, sophistication, sexiness, and I was so honoured to be asked to be a part of it. I was also very excited to come to Paris to shoot the commercial!
The ESCADA woman is naturally flamboyant and flirtatious with a feisty spirit. To what extent does this describe your own character?
ESCADA represents a type of woman who is self assured, comfortable in her own body, sexy and fun. I think we all would like to describe ourselves as an ESCADA type of woman, I know I would! It is a character description that I aspire to. It’s been really exciting to embody the ESCADA woman for this campaign!
What do you think of the new fragrance? Do you like the bottle and packaging design?
I do! The packaging is beautiful. The design is very simple, yet elegant. I’m very sensitive to design and I love the bottle, incorporating the classic ‘double E’ ESCADA logo.
What did you enjoy most about the DesireMe shoot?
I had the amazing opportunity to come to Paris to shoot the campaign. Everyone’s been so welcoming and that’s been really lovely. The Director Brett Foraker is a lot of fun, easy going and inspiring. I love all the ideas that have gone into the shoot and the philosophy behind it. This is about an empowered woman. I really enjoy being able to slip into that role, to play someone sexy and powerful... without having to utter a word.
How important a role do you feel fragrance plays in a woman’s life?
The choice of a fragrance is the most personal of choices. Women often make that choice based on what mood they’re in... a sexy mood calls for a sexy fragrance. That’s what’s great about DesireMe. You can wear something that fills you with confidence, puts you into a place where you’re comfortable to be sexy and open the gate to new and exciting things. Women like to put on a scent that makes them feel confident so that they can approach their day feeling like they’re sharing that with the people around them. I love it when I’m on a crowded subway train and someone is wearing a lovely perfume. I really appreciate the choice of fragrance!
As an actress, you’re used to playing the role of the beautiful seductress who drives men wild with desire. What is your top tip for girls/women who want to attract the attention of a prospective suitor on a night out?
My top tip for feeling seductive is to hold your head up high and really own your movement, your body and your choices. Wearing something that can make you feel beautiful and can make you feel sexy puts you into a place where you can embody that. If you can feel that kind of confidence you’ll project the sexiness that you’re looking for.
